A Kindred Earth Logo Design

Created for a friend who has an herbalism and folk medicine business. We talked a lot about symbols that she would like to see in her logo. We ended up with a hummingbird as the most pertinent representation for her business. Through sketch exploration, I refined the logo to this final version.
Tools used: Pen and ink, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

"Angelmakers" Poster Design

I was commissioned by Realtime Interventions to create posters for one of their performance art productions, “ANGELMAKERS: Songs for Female Serial Killers.” Angelmakers is a true-crime cabaret concert that explores the moments and motives of female serial killers throughout history. Realtime wanted posters fashioned after the Punk Rock style and featuring portraits of some of their spotlighted female serial killers: Mary Bell, Jane Toppan and Gwen Graham and Cathy Wood.
For each poster, I started by learning about the historical figures' crimes and the lyrics of the original song about them. I then made a charcoal drawing of the women, looking closely at existing photographs. I then imported the drawing into Photoshop and layered it with textures and hand-drawn iconographic symbols related to the song about the killer. After that, I created the graphic design elements, inspired by punk rock posters. This digital design was then used to create screens for screen printing. I screen printed the posters as the method of reproduction.
